A CARBOROBOT Steam principles of boiler operation

The operation of the steam boiler is regulated in accordance with steam pressure. Pressure is measured by a high-precision semiconductor sensor. As pressure increases and reaches the value set in item 8.13 the flue gas flap closes but the fan continues to operate and the grate keeps moving. This reduces the amount of air flowing into the boiler and the output of the boiler will decrease accordingly. If pressure increases further, the fan will be shut down and the grate will be stopped by the controls. This, in turn, will quickly reduce performance and steam pressure will drop. When steam pressure drops below the upper cutoff limit, the fan is reactivated and the grate starts moving; upon further reduction of the pressure the flue gas flap opens which further increases output and steam pressure. These phases will alternate as steam pressure changes. The maximum value that can be set on the pressure gauge is 0.50bar. Two different switch values can be set on the pressure gauge. The lower pressure value is 0.05bar lower than the defined highest allowable pressure and the flap closes at this value (e.g if maximum pressure is set to 0.45bar, the lower switch value is 0.40bar).The lower pressure value has no hysteresis. Upon reaching the upper pressure value (e.g. 0.45bar) the fan and the grate will both stop. The hysteresis of the upper pressure is 0.01bar, i.e. the fan switches back on at a pressure 0.01bar below the set maximum pressure (e.g. it switches off at 0.45bar

The boiler possible to use to heat hot water system with the special pipework. The best proven method when in the boiler steam pipe we place adjustable valve junction. From here led in the steam-heated hot water system or the water tank through a lamellar heat exchanger. In this case, the steam boiler is always operate in steam mode and we can is chosen the amount of steam entering the heating system.
So it is possible to simultaneously use the steam for heating and technological purposes. Be sure to this double mode, the heating steam removal is not to be large enough to interfere with the use of technology.
This mode should only be used when going to the steam boiler and the type of load reaches a specified power rating of at least 30%.

During boiler operation, it is of utmost importance to ensure adequate water levels and water quality. The boiler must be fed with soft water, hardness must not exceed 0.1 °dH. Every time the boiler is refilled salt content in the water is deposited which can lead to scaling, reducing the efficiency and life expectancy of the boiler. Soft feeding water also contains salts and corrosion may slowly take place in the iron elements of the boiler; in the steam boiler, pollution builds up and must be removed through the decantation areas provided (2.5). Feeding water also contains solute gases which cause corrosion. Degassing techniques are commonly described in steam boiler related literature; it is the contracted installer’s and the user’s responsibility to utilise such techniques. Malfunctions resulting from scaling, corrosion or the lack of decantation are caused by inappropriate use therefore the Manufacturer does not take responsibility for such malfunctions and these are not covered by the warranty. Significant care must be taken when preparing feed water used in steam boilers. The quality of feed water must be checked regularly to avoid premature problems with the boiler. Feed water quality issues are summarised in the table below. Feed water specifications as per EN 12953-10
